Enjoy a game of croquet at Kelburn

AGM rings the changes

Despite the restrictions of the very real threat of Covid, we managed to play quite a lot of croquet at Kelburn Municipal Croquet Club over the past winter and summer seasons and several members had done well in club and external competitions, said President Mary Stevens in summing up the year at the Annual General Meeting on 4 June.

The highlight of the AGM was the election of Kathleen Coleridge as a Life Member (see News item).

The club completed the season with 82 members, including four Life Members, one associate member, and five social members. A number of people purchased the introductory package.

Covid impacted on the corporate fundraising the club does through hosting corporate groups, but the overall financial result was a small surplus due to undertaking less maintenance.

The many who have helped undertake essential tasks throughout the year were thanked in the President's address to the meeting.

The committee was voted in, with Brian Black, Pam Fuller and Pat Wiffin volunteering to fill places vacated by Jocelyn Brandon, Kathleen Coleridge and Lesley Meadows.

Members voted to adopt a new schedule of fees for the 2022/23 season to address the proposed budget.
