Winter play postponed a few more days

What a beautiful morning we had for our first day’s play of the winter season, as the photos below show.

Five friends from Khandallah Club joined us and an excellent number of our own members were also present.

Roger Hurnard from Khandallah very kindly demonstrated the new Heretaunga Rules which apply in the winter season and any other time jump shots are not allowed. Roger also explained Advantage Golf Croquet and we played this on Saturday as well as Heretaunga Rules.

For those of you who weren’t present don’t worry, there will be plenty more chances to learn this technique as we progress slowly through the winter.

Thank you Roger. We look forward to seeing you and your fellow club members again over the next few months.

However, the lawns are not up to standard and it has been decided, regrettably, that we must be patient for a while longer before playing on them again.

The lawns are now closed again for about another week or so, depending on the weather.

We shall keep you all informed when you are able to play again.

In the meantime take care, stay well, warm, and dry.

Best wishes,

Mary Egley
President
